'Authenticity Fetish: Corn Dolly, Of Fire, The Plater' (2015)
Lucy Harvey is a Manchester based visual artist whose work responds to our relationship with objects. By mimicking and referencing methods of making and repair studied in everyday culture and museum archives Harvey creates intimate objects and installations which hope to capture the multifaceted nature of narrative and its fractional capacity to make sense of the world around us. The function of personal and institutional collection motivates much of her work and through themes of misrepresentation she explores our desires for legacy and control.
